Mountain people are built a little differently. They set alarms for the dark, pack snacks for the summit, and come home with stories that start at the top. Mountain Sports is where Allergic to Boring Dayz keeps the art for them, and it opens with the Kindling design, a whole range drawn in clean black line with a golden morning breaking over it.
Peaks and a golden sunrise
Two sharp peaks rise side by side, with a smaller one tucked in beside them, and right over the tallest a golden sun throws its rays in every direction. It is that exact moment when the first light hits the summit, the one every early riser climbs for and nobody who slept in ever gets to see. Pines stand tall on both flanks, a few wisps of cloud slide across the sky, and the brand name curves above it all like the sign at a trailhead.
Every way down
Now look at who is on that mountain. A skier cuts down the face in a crouch, mid carve, clearly having the run of the season. Above the ridgeline, a paraglider drifts under a wide canopy, taking the long, happy way down. Lower on the trail, a hiker with a full pack leans on her poles for a breather, and by the lake an orange tent waits for everyone to come back and compare notes. Somebody even brought a kayak for the afternoon. It is every mountain sport at once, a busy little summit where everyone found their own way to the top and back.
For the one who needs altitude
This belongs to the skier who checks snow reports in August. The hiker who collects summits the way other people collect refrigerator magnets. The friend who took up paragliding last spring and brings it up at every dinner, and honestly, fair enough. It is for anyone who breathes easier above the tree line and gets restless after too many days at sea level. Picture your mountain friend standing at the top, cheeks red, arms up. When they say they are just going for a short hike, pack them a headlamp anyway.
